Mountain Bike : with front suspension is essential , particularly for off road trails. Hard tails are an additional bonus.
Helmet: This is a compulsary item to be worn at all times during the biking section of the challenge.
Small Back Pack : Essential for carrying runners for the peak/mountain run on the bike leg section(cycling shoes are not a good idea on the rocky boulders to the summit of Foxes Rock), Repairs , Food and water can also be carried, as you have to be self sufficient during all sections of the challenge.
Repairs : two spare tubes , levers , puncture repair kit , allen keys , sun block (hopefully needed) , band-aids, vaso etc.
Food & Water : Its going to be a long day , so nutrition and hydration is essential both before and more importantly during the event. It will take between 5 and 8 hours to complete . So you are looking at about 6000-7000 calories and 4/5 litres of water to be consumed. Your not going on a picnic but fill that backpack with the essentials.
Extras : Your Team , all your stamina , cycle shorts , cycle top with back pockets for carrying stuff

- Camping ground is available beside sailing club . Shower and toilet facilities are available Friday night and saturday .
- Cuchulainn CC : mountain bike section of the club meet up on saturday at 10:30am at the Lumpers Pub, Ravensdale. Everybody welcome to join in
